Ina Clark

Vice President, Development
As Vice President of Development, Ina brings extensive experience in fundraising, communications and strategic development in nonprofit, corporate and government and a lifelong commitment to supporting women.

At Ogilvy & Mather, she built results-oriented approaches for such clients as American Express, General Foods, and Duracell while devoting time to pro bono clients including Business Committee for the Arts. Other agency experience includes Calet, Hirsch & Spector and TBWA. In a new position as Senior Marketing Manager at New York’s MTA, her projects used communications tools to reverse ridership declines and expand awareness of such changes as graffiti removal and air conditioning in the subways, resulting in additional funding for critical capital programs. Her time on the MTA’s Homeless Task Force was a life-changing experience, resulting in a commitment to nonprofit work.

Ina’s 20 years of nonprofit experience includes leading development and communications New York City Center (launching board, sponsorship, web and other initiatives and developing the branding and funding for the launch and first five seasons of the acclaimed Encores! musical theatre series), the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Independent Filmmaker Project, and The Actors Fund (a human services organization helping thousands of arts professionals every year). Ina has been VP of Philanthropic Development at the international educational organization Sesame Workshop and Director of Development at American Ballet Theatre.

Ina sits on the board of Parsons Dance Company, and has volunteered for organizations including New York City Ballet and School of American Ballet (creating a program to identify thousands of alumni as new funding sources). She has spoken on fundraising at NYU’s School of Continuing Education and the Parsons School, and worked on projects for Count-Me-In for Women’s Economic Independence, the Women’s Media Center and many more.

Born in Brooklyn, Ina received a BA at Rider College and enjoyed the eye-opening opportunities of a junior year abroad in Oxford.

She is proud of participating in at least two dozen walks for AIDS and women’s health issues, and serves as 2nd Vice Chair for Manhattan Community Board 5.
   

In early 2011 the Ms. Foundation brought together two grantees, Sarita Gupta of our National Jobs with Justice and Attica Woodson Scott of Kentucky Jobs with Justice, for a conversation about KJwJ's recent victory in defeating harsh anti-immigrant legislation in the Bluegrass State -- and how legislating hate harms us all.
