Walid G. Haddad

Development Database Administrator

Walid is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Administration and has an MBA from Saint John's University with emphasis on Marketing Management. He also received a certification in Database Development for E-Commerce from Columbia University.

Walid was born in Beirut, Lebanon during the civil strife. He speaks three languages. In 1997, he joined Hotelmark, a marketing company that sent him around the world to market five-star hotels and resorts. After five years of continuous travel, seeing new worlds and learning about new cultures, he decided to settle down in New York City where he has lived since 1985.

In 2003, Walid joined Americans for UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) and was the Operations Manager. His interest in the work of the organization stemmed from his belief in the need for a multilateral approach in addressing the complex issues women are confronting in the world today. In 2011, he joined the Ms. Foundation for Women. The role of the foundation in promoting and addressing the issues that women are still facing in the 21st century makes him eager to join its efforts. This is particularly so, because the issues being dealt with are crucial to the well-being of families and society as a whole.

2011 Marie C. Wilson Young Women's Leadership awardee, Priscilla Rorie, worked as the Youth Coordinator for Close to Home in Dorchester, MA. Through her work with CTH, Priscilla has inspired dozens of youth to speak out, share their stories, and break the vicious cycle of silence and shame that perpetuates domestic, sexual and community violence.
